Hello from Scalable Networks!

If you have just started receiving our newsletter, we hope you will find it a useful way to stay informed about QualNet. If you have been receiving these newsletters for a while, you'll notice a new look. In conjunction with the launch of QualNet 3.5 in October, we have updated our company image.

Announcing QualNet 3.5

Besides the expanded Library of Models, the main benefits of the latest version of QualNet are:

New levels of efficiency for model development teams. QualNet's code development environment has been greatly enhanced. Included with QualNet Developer and Model Designer, this tool helps speed up model development using an intuitive finite state diagram notation. The tool has been revamped to look and function more like a typical interactive development environment, with easy navigation between the state diagram and source code, as well as richer features for code editing.
Easy import of existing networks. QualNet Importer is a module for collecting data from existing networks and importing that information into a QualNet model. QualNet Importer automatically gathers network topology information from devices running SNMP. For importing traffic from existing networks, an additional feature will be added to QualNet Importer in the months ahead.
New product family to meet the needs of members of project teams with different roles. The QualNet Family of Products consists of five elements: QualNet Developer, QualNet Model Designer, QualNet Simulator, QualNet Parallel Simulator and QualNet Planner. For more information , download the datasheet here.
Greatly enhanced online manual and help. A new html-based User Manual comes with more extensive explanations and interactive navigation. Help files come included with QualNet 3.5, and have key word search capabilities. Both the manual and help files are updated regularly, and users can download the latest versions of the documents from the same distribution page where they download the software.

“QualNet has matured extensively in the last year. We feel that today QualNet has all the attributes necessary to make it the tool of choice to analyze technologies in support of homeland security and network-centric warfare. QualNet is becoming widely adopted among defense contractors, research labs, and companies with mission-critical computer and communication networks."
Rajive Bagrodia, Founder and President of Scalable Network Technologies.

SNT exhibited at Milcom 2002 in Anaheim, California. Many of you whom we met had been tasked to find out more about SNT and QualNet. We'd like to follow up on some commonly asked questions.

Q: Do you have CDs of QualNet software that I can try out myself?

A: No, we don't distribute CDs, but if you'd like to try out QualNet for free, you can. Just fill out this form and we will send you an email by the end of the next business day with information on how to download QualNet.

Q: Do you have reports on how QualNet fares against the competition?

A: Well, we could write them, but would you believe the results if they came from us? If you are interested in finding out how QualNet compares against other products, we can get you in touch with existing users of QualNet who have done studies of their own and who might share with you what they know.

SNT held QualNet World 2002, the first ever Qualnet users' conference, which was a great success. With over 70 attendees at Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel, QualNet World provided a forum for the exchange of ideas about network modeling in today's demanding simulation environments. With over 26 companies and academic institutions represented, attendees learned how QualNet is solving problems for a large variety of computer networks.

If you attended QualNet World and would like copies of the presentations, click here to enter the password protected site. If you have not yet received a username and password, please send an email to qualnetworld@scalable-networks.com and request it.
