Scalable Network Technologies Awarded SBIR Grant to Advance Scalable, Real-Time Analysis Environment for Military Networks
 - As JTRS scales-up, a live-virtual-constructive test/evaluation architecture
will realistically represent thousands of on-the-move radios -

Los Angeles, CA (July 7, 2009)--- Scalable Network Technologies, Inc. (SNT), the leader in wireless network evaluation, announced today that the company was awarded a Phase 2.5 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant, jointly sponsored by four DOD agencies: US Army ATEC (Army Test and Evaluation Command); the JTRS (Joint Tactical Radio System) Program Executive Office (JPEO); PM Future Combat Systems (BCT), Modeling & Simulation Office; and US Army TRADOC (Training and Doctrine Command).  The intention is to create an enterprise solution for network communications simulation for JTRS Ground Mobile Radio (GMR) testing, training and experimentation.  Tasks include leveraging the JTRS Modeling & Evaluation Environment (JMEE) that SNT developed under Phase I and II SBIR’s to create a live-virtual-constructive test architecture that can accurately and realistically represent the operation of thousands of on-the-move radios, including verification and validation.

The plan involves SBIR and outside matching funds totaling $2M and is scheduled for completion in October 2010.

Scalable Network Technologies has developed a one-of-a-kind intellectual property for hardware-in-the-loop emulations that enables real physical networks to connect seamlessly with software virtual networks (SVN’s).  SNT has a notable record of SBIR performance, as well as growing sales of software products QualNet®, EXata®and Network Centric Forces (NCF) to defense contractors, government agencies and commercial network operators.

Given the importance of network-centricity as the evolving doctrine for the next generation of US DOD, DHS, and intelligence agency programs, new wireless network modeling, planning & management, and test & evaluation tools are required to ensure operability and accuracy in dynamic scenarios.  SNT’s emulation technology provides a less costly and substantially more effective environment for analysis and evaluation of net-centric protocols, applications, devices, services, and training systems.
