Java
  • Sun Java 2 SDK, Standard Edition 1.4.0 through 1.4.0_04 are officially supported. (Java 1.4.1 and higher currently are not officially supported and may have various issues with the QualNet GUI tools, such as missing functionality or increased memory usage. Versions of Java from vendors other than Sun also are not officially supported.) is officially supported. Compiler
  • Windows:
    • Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0(any edition) with Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 5 is required only if you modify source code or include add-ons.

    • The GCC version that matches your operating system in the table below is required to install QualNet:

Linux users:
To determine your version of glibc, run the command 'rpm -q glibc'. glibc 2.3.2 is installed on Red Hat 9 by default, while 7.3 and 8.0 use 2.2.x. Mandrake versions 8.0-9.0 use glibc 2.2; 9.1 and higher use 2.3.x.
