The webinar will focus on IPT3N, an integrated simulation-based network planning framework with a set of semi-automated tools to reduce the complexity of network planning. It will include a live demo of how IPT3N can be used determine the tower locations for a LTE network layout in Yosemite National Park. The park has numerous and varied terrain features that create a challenging and complex wireless environment. We are going to show how IPT3N can be used to automatically determine suitable tower locations based on the terrain and channel characteristics to create a LTE network layout to provide coverage to the area of interest while minimizing the amount of interference.
Defeng Xu is a Member of Technical Staff at SCALABLE Network Technologies. He received his BS/MS in Computer Science from the University of California Los Angeles with research focusing on Deceptive Cyber Attacks in Wireless Networks. His research interests lie in network modeling and simulation as well as cyber security threats and defenses in wireless networks. Defeng has over a decade of experience in modeling and simulation, both in an academic research setting as well as industry. He is currently one of the engineers for a S&T project sponsored by C4T, IPT3N which is an integrated simulation-based planning framework with a set of semi-automated tools to significantly reduce the complexity of network planning.
