Culver City, CA (18 September 2017) — SCALABLE Network Technologies, Inc. (SCALABLE), a leader in wireless network design and optimization tools, announced today that the company was awarded an independent SBIR Phase II Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) contract to support enhancements to the Joint Tactical Radio System Network Emulator (JNE) waveforms model. The contract from the MIDS Program Office (MPO) for MIDS Joint Tactical Radio System (MIDS JTRS) is follow-on to previous Army and Navy Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) efforts with SCALABLE.
The objective of this Phase 2 is to provide a model at the application layer that can be used for parametric, bi-directional traffic generation that works across a number of relevant tactical waveforms. The application will be useful to assess operational performance of tactical battlefield networks that have been modeled using simulators and emulators like the JNE. SCALABLE will develop an appropriate model, together with a GUI to facilitate rapid configuration of application traffic, integrate it with existing JNE and EXata models, demonstrate its utility in enhancing analysis of complex tactical scenarios, and deliver the tested model to the MPO. Our team of senior engineers and managers has decades of experience in network protocol development, modeling and simulation, and integration of live, virtual and constructive Department of Defense (DoD) networks and systems. This specialized background puts SCALABLE in a unique position to develop the technology proposed for this Phase 2 SBIR.
