EXata/JNE To Model and Simulate Large Scale Tactical Network Communication Systems
Culver City, CA (11 July 2018) — SCALABLE Network Technologies, Inc. (SCALABLE) a leader in wireless network design and optimization tools, announced a contract award of $2.8M via the Rapid Innovation Fund from the Program Executive Office for Command, Control and Communications-Tactical (PEO C3T), in support of the Project Manager for the PM Tactical Network. SCALABLE’s EXata network simulation software, along with the Government off the Shelf (GOTS) library, Joint Network Emulator (JNE) are being used to model and simulate large scale tactical network communication systems. This project will use the JNE capability, enhanced under this effort, to reduce costs and risks by early identification of interoperability or performance gaps, as tactical systems scale up to the brigade (BDE) and larger-sized deployments in realistic operational scenarios. It will improve the timeliness and thoroughness of system test & evaluation by using the simulations for rapid evaluation of a much larger set of alternative configurations prior to field tests. Lastly, it will enhance DoD system capabilities by using the emulations to assess the impact of and mitigation strategies for electronic warfare (EW) and cyber threats on the network and on the mission.
