Culver City, CA -- SCALABLE Network Technologies, Inc. (SCALABLE), the leader in network virtualization technology for planning, testing and training, announced today the granting by the US Patent Office of a patent that covers a mechanism for automatically reconfiguring a network in order to maximize network performance based on on-going feedback from a real-time network simulation process.
The patent for invention number 7,774,440 B1 is for a method and system for enhancing performance of a physical network under real-time control using simulation of a reference model. The field of the invention generally relates to network management and, more particularly, to systems and methods for monitoring, simulating, and enhancing network performance.
Network configurations are becoming increasingly complicated, making it harder and more time consuming for operators to determine if they are achieving optimum performance.
This patent describes how active management software, by continuously running a series of predictive simulations based on actual monitored data of network state and traffic flows, can rapidly compute and compare a wide range of different configuration options and identify a current 'best' choice.
This configuration can then be automatically deployed to a networked environment for real-time enhancement. The result is a network that dynamically adapts to changing conditions, maintaining optimized performance without the inefficiencies of operator intervention.
