SCALABLE Releases New Version of QualNet and EXata Modeling and Simulation Tools

New and Enhanced Features for Productivity

Culver City, CA (31 May 2018) — SCALABLE Network Technologies, Inc. (SCALABLE), a leader in wireless network design and optimization products, announced today the availability of QualNet 8.2 and EXata 6.2. The updated versions of SCALABLE’s advanced network modeling and simulation tools offer enhancements to existing libraries, additional cyber-attack models, as well as, better traffic modeling tools. With this release, the user will be able to visualize results in new ways, simulate the latest communications technology and import common traffic capture and network diagraming models. These updates provide improved productivity and a new, enhanced approach to cyber-attack and network modeling, simulation, test, and analysis.

New Functionality

The QualNet 8.2 and EXata 6.2 releases incorporate many new features and performance improvements:

    • 802.11ax PHY and MAC Models – Provides the ability to better analyze dense deployments scenarios such as office building and apartments
    • Packet modification Cyber Attacks – Exfiltration, modification, and injection of UDP and TCP packets from live streams to include data modification, cyber induced delays, and spurious packet injection
    • Heat Map – Visualization capability to represent signal coverage
    • Visio Network Topology Converter – Utility to support conversion of network diagrams into modeled scenarios
    • PCAP Traffic Mapper – application traffic models derived from network traffic captures


Both the QualNet 8.2 and EXata 6.2 network design and optimization tools are available now. They are supported on Microsoft Windows 7 and 10, Centos 6.9 and 7.3, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.9 and 7.3, and Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and 16.04 LTS. The upgrades are available free of charge to all customers covered under a current software maintenance agreement via their download page.
